UnderWater World

Yesterday, I went on a beach trip with my college but unfortunately the weather was stormy. Luckily my scuba
soul mate, Taylor, and I are huge nerds and ended up having a blast at the UnderWater World Aquarium. We got to go on a "behind the scenes" tour where we got to view the aquarium tunnel from above and even pet a baby shark. Also, we  got to see the huge turtles they were rehabilitating. Unfortunately we couldn't take pictures or video because it was a quarantine area. The video below is from the aquarium tunnel. The tunnel was amazing as it guided you in a huge circle on a moving walkway. The aquarium was home to various shark species including a baby hammerhead and even the world's deadliest shark, the bull shark...

The Great Barrier Reef

Here's a video of my week at Heron Island. I had an absolute blast and did something I've always wanted to do...swim with sharks :) Not only that but I got up close and personal and even touched a couple of them. I hope everyone is having a great week. "The future is not a destination. It is a never ending path of possibilities."

Koalas & Kangaroos Oh My!

Ok I have to start by apologizing for taking a million years to put up a new blog post :/ I was sick this whole last week but I'm better now and ready to share some exciting things with you guys :) Yesterday was one of the coolest days I've had here so far...
I went with my friend Taylor to the beautiful koala sanctuary and got up close and personal with some REAL Aussie natives.

(I wanted to take her home)

The sanctuary has about 150 koalas along with dingos, tasmanian devils, wombats, and so many other Australian animals. My favorite part of the sanctuary was being able feed these guys....

Imagine entering an extremely large grassy field with lots of trees, emus, and around 100 KANGAROOS! It was incredible to be able to not only feed them put literally hang out with them. They are such friendly animals who will come right up to you or you can do as I did and sit with them. One even tried to kiss me! Another thing I loved about the place is that the sanctuary takes such good care of all their animals and keeps them healthy. I feel that's so important because so many zoos and aquariums have their animals tightly locked up and on display to simply make a profit. I didn't get that vibe here and the kangaroo field was so huge I doubt the kangaroos even realize there's a fence along the outskirts. Overall I had an amazing time and I'm definietly looking forward to going back :)

I hope everyone is doing well! Much love <3

Thug Life

Every night this week (don't worry I'm going to school too!) there have been different parties and events. On Tuesday, a "Gangster" party was hosted at a club in the valley...
Ok, my knuckles read "WITE GURL," my arm says "Teach me how to DOUGIE" (the wing I live in is Douglas or Dougie for short...get it), and inspired my mama my band-aid on my face says "OUCH."

Perhaps the craziest bus ride of my life! Everyone was chanting songs from their colleges and swinging around like animals.
The End :)

much love <3

Fine Dinning

You can find this slab of meat at any grocery store around.... Ok, so no I have not tried kangaroo yet but I am planning on it soon (after I get over the fact that I'm eating a poor lil kangaroo). Apparently it is really good and everyone enjoys it. However, I have tried Vegemite and it is absolutely disgusting. It honestly tastes like a thick soy sauce paste and it is extremely salty.
After taking one bite I gave it to my friend Danielle who actually really liked it (weirdo) and ate the rest. My favorite thing I've had since I've been here would have to be Bundaberg Ginger Beer. It sounds strange but it is so delicious and has a little sweet taste. Anyone who likes ginger, or is like my mom and eats it off my sushi plate (yuck!), will probably really like it. You might be able to find it at Cost Plus World Market but if not I guess you'll just have to come visit ;)
